BenQ ZOWIE Partners with Waves E-Gaming

Costa Mesa, California, Apr.26 – BenQ ZOWIE is excited to announce our partnership with Waves E-Gaming, the first dedicated esports facility in Canada. With over 80 computers, 20 console systems, and supporting more than 20 tournaments annually, Waves E-Gaming aims to set waves within the esports industry and is actively building their community of gamers.

In an interview with Khaled Sherif, the Chief Operations Officer for Waves E-Gaming, he mentions, "ZOWIE is definitely one of the leaders in esports hardware. This weekend (April 26^th - 28^th), Waves E-Gaming will be hosting T.O. Spawn, a CS:GO tournament at their LAN center in the gorgeous city of Toronto with over $10,000 in cash prizing. The tournament will feature the best semi-pro teams in the world which will then challenge a professional team in the grand finals. The players will be competing on the XL2540, which features lightning-fast 240Hz refresh rate.

When asked about the future of Waves E-Gaming, Khaled informs us that "the short term goals for Waves E-Gaming is to become the leading event venue in Canada while the long term goals are to become a vertically integrated esports company, where everything from events, team management, and R&D takes place under one roof". The Waves E-Gaming facility hopes to bring "more and bigger events" while creating "more organizations dedicated to gamers with more scouting/sponsorship opportunities". In regards to the esports scene, Khaled states "Canada has amazing young talent, yet they don't have enough platforms to showcase their skills. We aim to change that".

Both attendees and teams will have the opportunity to visit the ZOWIE Booth and experience premiere ZOWIE XL-Series monitors and try out the different shapes and sizes of mice that ZOWIE has to offer. The XL-Series monitors feature exclusive Dynamic Accuracy, Color Vibrance, and Black eQualizer technology that enhance visual viewing experience.
