What should I do if I experience stuttering or lag with my XL monitor?
Since monitors are passive devices, they receive the signal output from the graphics card without actively causing stuttering. However, several factors can affect monitor performance. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot:
1. Ensure cables are directly connected from your PC to the monitor. Avoid using
splitters or adapters as they may cause latency or compatibility issues.
2. If you have multiple monitors, try disconnecting them temporarily. Multiple
monitors can strain the GPU, leading to an unstable signal.
3. Reset your monitor through the menu: System > Reset > Reset All > YES.
4. Update your graphics card drivers to the latest version.
5. Ensure your PC is connected to a stable, low-latency network.
6. Close all background applications, including streaming apps, while gaming to
check for any software overloading the PC and affecting performance.
7. Try lowering in-game video settings. Higher settings consume more CPU and
GPU resources, potentially lowering FPS output.
If the issue persists after these steps, follow these additional checks:
1. Test the monitor with another PC if possible to determine if the issue is with the
monitor or PC.
2. Connect a different monitor to the same PC to isolate the problem.
3. Adjust the scaling option in your graphics card control panel (e.g., NVIDIA
Control Panel > Display > Adjust desktop size and position > Perform scaling
on: GPU/Display; For AMD: AMD software > Gaming > Display > GPU Scaling
> ON/OFF). This can sometimes affect performance.
