Final Fantasy XIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game from Square Enix that has been a widely played game since 2013 upon its rebooted release. Available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, the game supports cross-platform play and has regular updates to maintain the quality without losing out on the adventure. Your adventure begins by creating your fully customizable character, choosing to be a Disciple of War or Magic, and selecting a game sever to play in. In addition to facing off with the environment, the game has PVP combat options in a battle arena, but you do need a team of at least 3 to compete. Certain dungeons also require a large party to join, otherwise it will not let you enter alone. This encourages people to play with friends or join guilds to enhance their fantasy experience. With a large projected image, it’s easy to keep track of your guild members or play alongside friends without getting separated. Final Fantasy XIV won Best Ongoing Game and Best Community Support at the 2021 and 2022 Game of the Year Awards and was nominated for the same categories in 2023 and 2024. Since its initial release, five expansion packs have been added to the game every 2-3 years: Heavensword (2015), Stormblood (2017), Shadowbringers (2019), Endwalker (2021), and Dawntrail (2024).
