About the School
Global Prestasi School, also known as GPS, an international private K-12 institution in Bekasi, Indonesia, strives to nurture global citizens. The school integrates the Cambridge Curriculum from Cambridge University, UK, with the Merdeka Curriculum issued by Indonesia's Ministry of Education. Committed to providing exceptional teaching and learning experiences, GPS has recently initiated efforts to enhance its educational technology solutions.
The Challenge
Global Prestasi School’s existing edtech, consisting of traditional projectors and whiteboards, hindered engaging lesson delivery. Additionally, they wanted a solution that would be intuitive for IT, including remote account and device management, as well as digital announcement functionality to send important messages to their classes.
BenQ Solutions
At Global Prestasi School (GPS), the search for cutting-edge educational technology was a collaborative effort involving multiple principals and board members of the GPS management team. Their goal was to find innovative solutions to enhance teaching and learning experiences across the school. Mrs. Yuliani, S.S., M.Pd., Principal of Global Prestasi Junior High School, was selected to represent this collective effort and share her testimony about the team’s decision.
After conducting thorough online research on interactive displays from various brands, the GPS management team was most impressed by the BenQ Board’s features and potential. Following this, the school’s IT staff arranged a demonstration, which further solidified their decision.
Mrs. Yuliani explained that the BenQ Boards offered a seamless transition from traditional whiteboards and projectors to an all-in-one solution. These boards integrated multimedia capabilities, screen sharing, and the built-in EZWrite whiteboard. Additionally, the boards provided easy access to Google Workspace, a tool already widely used at GPS.
The IT staff also recognized the value of BenQ’s Account Management Solution (AMS) and Identity Access Management. These features could allow teachers to sync their Google Workspace accounts and log into any board on campus, ensuring personalized teaching spaces were readily available.
Mrs. Yuliani noted that another standout feature was BenQ’s Device Management Solution (DMS), which offered efficient tools for IT staff to manage and monitor the boards across the school.
“With AMS, teachers are able to personalize the BenQ Board to suit the classes that we teach.”
IT saw how they could use BenQ X-Sign to keep everyone at the school informed by allowing admins to remotely deliver important announcements from school leadership directly to BenQ devices.
The Results
Since implementing BenQ Boards, Global Prestasi School teachers and admins have witnessed a positive transformation in its classrooms. Students became noticeably “more active and happy” and want to use the board to solve math problems, says Yohana Clara, an elementary math teacher at GPS.
She highlighted how the boards now simplify her teaching workflow. “Instead of carrying my laptop to class and connecting it to the projector, I can simply log into the board and access my Google Drive files with ease,” she says.
Clara now uses the board’s EZWrite whiteboard and its built-in math tools to give math lessons and quizzes.
“Teaching and learning become more interesting and interactive with EZWrite,” she says.
In addition to EZWrite, Clara says the Floating Tool, which allows her to annotate over any program on the board, makes lessons more compelling for students. Meanwhile, her students use BenQ InstaShare 2 to wirelessly share content to the board from their devices.
“We are satisfied with using the BenQ Board.”
“IT staff use DMS to remotely manage boards by updating firmware, installing apps, and viewing detailed analytics,” says Farid Santoso, head of IT at the Global Prestasi School.
Santoso says that DMS has allowed IT staff to save time managing BenQ Boards across dozens of classrooms.
“We are greatly helped by the Device Management Solution,” Santoso says. “We can do device management remotely and do not need to visit the classes one by one.”
The IT department also uses the analytics in DMS to enhance BenQ Board usage.
“We can share statistics reports with the principals and they will discuss and then encourage teachers to maximize the use of the BenQ Board in school,” Santoso says.
Furthermore, Santoso praises the BenQ support team. When the school’s IT team needed help integrating the boards with their Google Workspace user list, BenQ staff were “very helpful,” Santoso says. They even set up a dedicated instant messaging group for the IT team to get support whenever needed.
“We are satisfied with using the BenQ Board,” he says.
